Bob Simi - Executive Director
Bob Simi joined the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center as executive director in October 2014 and brought more than 25 years of organizational leadership experience in public, private and not-for-profit organizations. He previously worked as a vice president in the commercial construction industry. A former United States Marine Corps lieutenant colonel, Bob has also served at every level of government to include federal, state, and municipal levels.
"Bob's ability to build relationships has been an important factor in his career and will help advance MRMC's status as Southeast Wisconsin's only academic medical center," said Cathy Jacobson, Froedtert Health president and CEO.
In his role, Bob leads the efforts to further define the vision and future of the MRMC campus through partnerships with local and regional businesses, government leaders and health organizations.
Bob earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the United States Naval Academy and a Master of Public Administration degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Rachel Stauffer - Vice President of Finance
Rachel joined MRMC in May 2023 after serving nearly twelve years at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). She progressively advanced at MCW to her most recent position as the Department Administrator for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation whe she managd all finance, budget, strategic planning, clinical, research, and administrative operations for the department. Rachel brings over 30 years of experience in the healthcare, banking, and service industries where she has held leadership roles in finance, accounting, and business operations.
In her position as vice president of finance for MRMC, she is responsible for all budget and finance matters associated with all MRMC organizations.
Rachel earned a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration - Public Accounting degree from California State University in San Bernardino, California.
Mark Geronime, PE - Vice President of Operations
Mark Geronime joined the MRMC executive team in 2016 as vice president of operations after completing a notable 25-year career in the United States Navy.
A native of Rosemount, Minnesota, Mark graduated from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering and was commissioned through Navy ROTC in May 1991. After nuclear-power school, Mark served on a nuclear-powered submarine, then transferred to the Navy's Civil Engineer Corps where he completed multiple tours of duty around the nation and world. Mark's duties included command responsibility and his last position was as Commanding Officer of Naval Facilities Engineering Command Northwest, where he provided oversight for four bases and other naval facilities in 11 states.
Mark also holds a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota. He is a Certified Energy manager, a registered Professional Engineer (Oregon), and completed the Executive Development Program at Wharton School of Business in 2012.
Mark's focus of responsibility for the MRMC campus includes:
- District heating and cooling provided by MRMC Thermal (overall design, construction, and operations)
- Potable water, storm, and sanitary operation provided by MRMC Water (overall design, construction, and operations)
- Roadway design and construction
- Infrastructure operations (traffic signals, street lights, landscaping, snow removal, and land use control)
Sheri Schmit, PE - Vice President of Transportation & Infrastructure
Sheri Schmit joined the MRMC executive team in November 2019, after completing a notable 35-year career at the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT). She held several roles in her 35 years with WisDOT including Project Development Chief, Planning Chief and her most recent role, Southeast Region Deputy Director, serving the seven counties in Southeast Wisconsin. During her tenure with WisDOT, she played an instrumental role in a number of key inter-governmental and publc and private initiatives.
Sheri holds a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from Marquette University and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Wisconsin.
Sheri is responsible for overall planning, management, and operation of transportation and parking services for the campus as well as the design, construction, and maintenance of MRMC campus roads. Sheri's focus of responsibilities for the MRMC campus includes:
- Coordinating planning and analysis for transportation facilities projects and programs, conforming to standards and requirements set forth in the campus master plan
- Design, construction, and maintenance of MRMC campus multimodal transportation facilities
- Working with campus leaders, local and regional planners, engineers and consultants to develop short- and long-term transportation planning
- Planning, management and operation of transportation and parking services for the campus
- Leading planning, programming, finances, demand and utilization analysis and compliance for parking, transit services, Travel Demand Management (TDM) programs, and circulation systems
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining a campus commuter program called the Ride Guide-Rethink Your Commute
- Representing MRMC in local and regional transportation projects and initiatives
Leif Erickson - Executive Director, Flight For Life
Leif Erickson was appointed Executive Director of Flight For Life in 2021. As a native of Racine, Wisconsin, he brings over 30 years of private and public experience in pre-hospital and hospital settings, including 22 years of service in career and volunteer fire departments, hospital management, and as an educator for the Wisconsin Technical College System.
Joining Milwaukee Regional Medical Center/Flight For Life as a Flight Paramedic in 2005, Leif has held many positions during his tenure including Flight Paramedic, Education Coordinator, Operations Manager, and Director of Operations.
Leif holds an Associate Degree in Fire Science from Milwaukee Area Technical College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Healthcare Management from Ottawa University, is a graduate of the Paramedic Program at Gateway Technical College, and studied Critical Care Medicine at the University of Baltimore, Maryland. He is also a candidate for a Master of Business Administration degree from Ottawa University.
Leif’s education, experience, passion for critical care medicine, dedication to the communities of Southeast Wisconsin and leadership abilities are welcomed as Flight For Life maintains excellence in the medical aviation industry.
Alfred Stucki - Director of Finance
Alfred Stucki joined MRMC as the director of finance in August 2015. Alfred has been involved in healthcare finance and accounting for more than 24 years in a broad range of activities including hospital, home care and hospice, medical equipment and infusion services.
Originally from Utah, Alfred received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Utah and later passed the CPA exam. As a member of the Healthcare Financial Managers Association, Alfred continues to stay informed about the frequent changes in healthcare.
Nick Burns - Director of Information Technology
Nick Burns has been working with MRMC since 2003, integrating technology to enhance organizational performance and outcomes. As a technologist in health care since 2007, Nick has coupled his personal passion for technology with a formal education in business administration and operations management from Marquette University.
As the MRMC and Flight For Life Director of IT, Nick spends his time at the intersection of business and technology, ensuring the enablement technology provides can be harnessed for the greater good of this organization's success.
Debbie Endres - Executive Assistant
Debbie Endres joined Milwaukee Regional Medical Center in March 2013 to support the executive director and executive team with an administrative and project focus.
She comes to us with experience spanning a variety of industries, including health care, and enjoys implementing process and functional improvements.
Debbie's additional role as office manager includes maintenance and annual reviews of the MRMC website as well as coordinating campus traffic impact reports.
Debbie also enjoys recording internal and external voiceover projects.
